In 2017 I took one of the biggest leaps of my photography career, at the time I was just enjoying taking shots of my friends cars here in SoCal and writing stuff for this blog. I actually had already seen the promotion going on for this event and knew it was going to be a big deal for the states. The special guest of honor Akinobu Satsukawa, from Team A-Bo_Moon, who has been a long time grassroots drifter hailing from Japan. The stage was set at Jurassic Park a.k.a. Shenandoah Speedway in beautiful Virginia. I’m so glad that I was invited to this event because it introduced me to buying the tickets and traveling where the wind blows. It also was the start of many great life long friendships with people that I still talk with to this day! Enjoy my 2nd take on these beautiful images and enjoy the feels trip.So with day 1 wrapped up it was time to head back to the trailer for some much needed and earned Z’s…little did I know I’d be up a the crack of sunlight. The next morning at 7:30 in the morning I can hear 2 things, the constant raindrops against the trailer we slept in and the engines being warmed up from the few drivers that wanted to make sure they got their entire day filled with driving. Waking up early did have it’s advantages as able to enjoy all the cars in the pits before a day of thrashing and I was the only one on track for some cool splashing shots and to enjoy the cold morning with some rad driving.
